Founder (2013–present)

Expat in Croatia is a long-running public resource founded to support foreigners and returning diaspora in understanding Croatian laws, administrative processes, daily life, and cultural norms. The platform provides clear, free, and thoroughly researched information designed to encourage lawful residence, informed decision-making, and respectful integration.

Over time, it has become a widely used reference point for individuals, families, organizations, and institutions seeking reliable, English-language information about Croatia.


Association of Croatian American Professionals (ACAP)

Board Secretary, Zagreb Chapter

As Board Secretary of the Zagreb chapter of ACAP, Sara Dyson contributes to programming, institutional coordination, and cross-border engagement between Croatian professionals and the Croatian-American diaspora. Her role supports professional exchange, dialogue, and long-term relationship-building between Croatia and its global community.


Society of the Brethren of the Croatian Dragon

As a member of the Brotherhood of Croatian Dragons, a cultural and heritage organization dedicated to preserving Croatian identity and tradition, she contributes to educational and public-facing initiatives, including lectures and dialogue on contemporary issues affecting Croatian society.

In addition to being a recipient of the Croatian Women of Influence Award for Entrepreneurship, Sara Dyson serves on the planning committee for the annual conference and awards, contributing to programming and initiatives that highlight women’s leadership, entrepreneurship, and public impact in Croatia.


Foreign Business Owners Association (FBOA)

Cofounder

As a cofounder of the Foreign Business Owners Association in Split-Dalmatia County, she has supported collaboration, education, and advocacy among foreign entrepreneurs operating in Croatia, with the goal of improving the local business environment and strengthening ties between foreign business owners and Croatian institutions. Sara served as Vice President from 2023 to 2025.
